"So, which one is my great-grandfather? My guess would be Samuel Farley Hampton, based on two things. First, look at his photo. There is a huge resemblance to Blossom, my grandmother. Next, the amount of DNA that I share with his grandson is large. So even though his cousin never performed a DNA test, I would guess that his could not be even more of a close match as to Samuel’s grandson. Whichever one it was, I highly doubt that the Hampton brothers knew that Mattie Belle was even pregnant. They went about their lives not knowing."
